Day 4: What's the last book you flung across the floor?
This is an easy one. Kill Me Softly by Sarah Cross. I went through this phase where I was really interested in retelling of fairy tales. I made the mistake of buying this book. Basically, an orphan named Mirabelle is raised by her fairy godmothers and she runs away to the town she was born in a week before her 16th birthday. She finds out that everyone there is under some kind of fairy tale curse and have been branded. Mirabelle's branded with a spinning wheel so she is obviously meant to play the role of sleeping beauty. She doesn't want to prick her finger and fall asleep to wait on her prince charming. She wants to lead her own life, damn it! Anyways, she falls in love with a guy who is meant to play the Bluebeard role. Not the best idea ever. I thought it was a cool premise, but honestly the writing was so bad that I felt it was a chore to read this book. It was really bad.
