Bitch Planet is an ongoing series where women on Earth who are deemed non-compliant are sent off to a prison off-world. It has a pulp feel and so far is decent fun. I'm a huge fan of Deconnick and I look forward to whatever she does.

BOOKS

Silent in the Sanctuary (Lady Julia #2)
Deanna Raybourn
Published by Mira
552 Pages

Fresh from a six-month sojourn in Italy, Lady Julia returns home to Sussex to find her father's estate crowded with family and friends— but dark deeds are afoot at the deconsecrated abbey, and a murderer roams the ancient cloisters.

Much to her surprise, the one man she had hoped to forget—the enigmatic and compelling Nicholas Brisbane is among her father's houseguests and he is not alone. Not to be outdone, Julia shows him that two can play at flirtation and promptly introduces him to her devoted, younger, titled Italian count.

But the homecoming celebrations quickly take a ghastly turn when one of the guests is found brutally murdered in the chapel, and a member of Lady Julia's own family confesses to the crime. Certain of her cousin's innocence, Lady Julia resumes her unlikely and deliciously intriguing partnership with Nicholas Brisbane, setting out to unravel a tangle of deceit before the killer can strike again. When a sudden snowstorm blankets the abbey like a shroud, it falls to Lady Julia and Nicholas Brisbane to answer the shriek of murder most foul.

The Golem and the Jinni
Helene Wecker
Published by Harper
496 Pages
Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a disgraced rabbi who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master, the husband who commissioned her, dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York in 1899.

Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop. Though he is no longer imprisoned, Ahmad is not entirely free – an unbreakable band of iron binds him to the physical world.

The Golem and the Jinni is their magical, unforgettable story; unlikely friends whose tenuous attachment challenges their opposing natures – until the night a terrifying incident drives them back into their separate worlds. But a powerful threat will soon bring Chava and Ahmad together again, challenging their existence and forcing them to make a fateful choice.

Games

Fortune and Glory by Flying Frog Productions

This game is a lot of fun! You play as pulp adventurers fighting against nazis! I really don't think I need to say more. It is pretty expensive and will cost you around $90.

Statues

Isn't  she gorgeous?! I've had my eye on her for a long time and decided today I'd bring her home.

Make Up

My two new OCC Lip Tars arrived in the mail today!

First up is "Narcissus". I didn't realize how pink this color would be! I like it and after it dries it doesn't look so barbie as you can see in the photo. I normally don't wear pinky lip colors because it doesn't mesh well with my olive skin tone. But this is nice and very moisturizing. A little bit goes a long way. I'm not sure if I'll wear this color that often though.

Next up is "Lydia". BEAUTIFUL color. I absolutely love it. It's moody and perfect for a night out. I'll have to add a liner thought because it did bleed a little though.

PHEW! That was a long haul! Hope you saw some stuff you like. Write a comment if you want!
