Feature & Follow Friday!

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly event hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The goal of this event is to gain exposure and new followers! You can follow me on facebook, twitter, goodreads, bloglovin, or pinterest. I'm most active on twitter.

This week's FF question is: Which books are you looking forward to reading in 2014?

There are so many books I'm looking forward to reading. This year I am all about stepping out of my comfort zone. I normally stick to fantasy, science fiction, and graphic novels, but this year I'm going to try reading more mysteries and books with romantic themes. I'll also be reading more non-fiction and books about feminism. So much to read!

This book is filled with minibiographies about princesses who don't like to follow the rules. Supposedly these are real stories, but I'm not sure how much liberty the author took with each story.

As I mentioned before, I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone. I joined a group on good
reads called Vaginal Fantasy (hosted by one of my favorite people ever Felicia Day!) Anyways, the books they read are totally different from what I'm used to. One of the books they read was Deanna Raybourn's Silent in the Grave and it caught my attention. It's the first book in the Lady Julia Grey series and is a mystery novel with a British lit influences. This is going to be the next book I read!

This graphic novel features women artists and writers. The first graphic novel, Womanthology: Heroic was successful as a kickstarter project so this is the second addition to the series.

I heard about this book last year and it is right up my alley. The story focuses on Julie's quest to find her most desired action figure. It's fun seeing sweaty nerds like me showing up in novels.

These are just a few books I'm looking forward to reading. Some others I should probably mention include Kushiel's Dart by Jaqueline Cary, The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, and reading the other books in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series.

What are you looking forward to reading?
