Feature and Follow Friday

Hosts: Alison Can Read and Parajunkee

Question of the Week: If you could get an ARC of any book, already published, or not yet, what would it be?

I would absolutely DIE for an ARC copy of Doors of Stone (The Kingkiller Chronicle #3) by Patrick Rothfuss. It is torture waiting for the last book to finally be released. There's not even a release date yet! It's been four years since the last book was released. I couldn't even upload a cover of the book BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ONE!!!!! GRRRRRR!!!
If you haven't read this series then you should head to your local bookstore and start reading. The books are long, but worth it! I'll have to reread the first two book again when the third comes out. I'm not complaining...only just a little bit. Oh, by the way, if this is your first time visiting my page then go ahead and leave me a comment! I'm most active on Twitter and Goodreads, but feel free to add me on any of my social media sites. As always, thanks for stopping by my fellow book nerds.
BLOG HOP!

This week's FF question is: Which books are you looking forward to reading in 2014?

There are so many books I'm looking forward to reading. This year I am all about stepping out of my comfort zone. I normally stick to fantasy, science fiction, and graphic novels, but this year I'm going to try reading more mysteries and books with romantic themes. I'll also be reading more non-fiction and books about feminism. So much to read!

This book is filled with minibiographies about princesses who don't like to follow the rules. Supposedly these are real stories, but I'm not sure how much liberty the author took with each story.

As I mentioned before, I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone. I joined a group on good
reads called Vaginal Fantasy (hosted by one of my favorite people ever Felicia Day!) Anyways, the books they read are totally different from what I'm used to. One of the books they read was Deanna Raybourn's Silent in the Grave and it caught my attention. It's the first book in the Lady Julia Grey series and is a mystery novel with a British lit influences. This is going to be the next book I read!

This graphic novel features women artists and writers. The first graphic novel, Womanthology: Heroic was successful as a kickstarter project so this is the second addition to the series.

I heard about this book last year and it is right up my alley. The story focuses on Julie's quest to find her most desired action figure. It's fun seeing sweaty nerds like me showing up in novels.

These are just a few books I'm looking forward to reading. Some others I should probably mention include Kushiel's Dart by Jaqueline Cary, The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, and reading the other books in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series.

What are you looking forward to reading?

Q: Share something you’ve learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

This question couldn't have come at a better time. I have been in such a big reading slump. It's been crazy. I've been pretty stressed out lately and the last thing I wanted to to do was read. I just couldn't get into it. I've been going strong since I started this blog. I was so enthusiastic! I finally started receiving review requests. Everything was going great. Then BAM! Life was like you're not stressed enough. Let me fix that.  So, I guess I've learned that there will be times that I just don't feel like reading and that's okay. It happens. My little slump is over now though! I'm excited to start reading and writing reviews. I'm going to take a little break from review requests and just read for pleasure. Don't give up one me just yet guys!

Feature & Follow Friday #5

Feature & Follow Friday is an event hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The goal is for bloggers to meet new friends and gain new followers.

Q: What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?

A: I keep them and hoard them. I go into my "book cave" and cuddle with my books and tell them they're my precious...
Okay, so I don't really do that...for the most part.  I usually put the book back on the shelf. Simple as that. Sometimes I'll leave it out on my night stand because I'm lazy. Right now my room is covered in books and comic books. I moved into a new place a few months ago and I don't have any book shelves. I've been told to donate them to make room, but no. That's not going to happen.

Woah, two gollum gifs in one post. I'm on a roll. Anyways, if you want to follow me then you can do so via twitter google+, RSS, bloglovin', goodreads, facebook, and pinterest. I got em' all, baby! Just leave a comment that you followed me and I will be happy to follow back. Happy Friday!

Feature & Follow Friday

It's that time of the week again. Feature & Follow Friday is a weekly event hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. The purpose is to help bloggers gain new friends and followers.
This week's Question:

Book Vacay: Where is the best destination reading spot for you? (Where do you like to go to read other then your home)

Answer: Since it is summer, I like to take my book to the pool. It's nice and relaxing until someone does a cannonball and gets my book wet. I also enjoy going to the local coffee shop to read. If I lived near the beach I would totally take my book to the beach. I'd make a few mixed drinks and put on a nice floppy hat. Nothing makes me feel more fabulous than a big floppy hat.

It doesn't really matter how you follow me. I have all the goods. Facebook, bloglovin', twitter, RSS, goodreads, google+. You decide :]

Feature and Follow Friday

It's Feature & Follow Friday! Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly event hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. The goal is to gain followers and find new friends.

I don't mind which way you follow me. I have facebook, twitter, bloglovin', RSS, google+. I have pinterest, but that isn't really related to book stuff.

Q: Activity: PHOTOBOMB!!!! Photobomb a picture with your favorite book. Share it of course.
I have recently moved so all of my copies of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is somewhere in storage. I decided to use my excellent Paint skills and make a picture. It's also Friday so I decided to go with a more festive picture. Anyways, I chose Frankenstein because it was the first science fiction novel I had ever read. I loved it! I have quite a few copies now and one really fancy one that was given as a gift.

What's your favorite book?
