Saturday Comics Haul!

Every Saturday, I stop by my local comic book store, Galactic Quest, and I pick up the comics on my pull list.  Check out the summaries below and see if any spark your interests!  If you're a Batman fan, then now is a good time to start reading because it just concluded the ZERO YEAR story arc.

Harley Quinn # 9
When Harley fills in as a burlesque dancer, she kills it on the main stage – literally! But what happens when she gets caught by the cops and finds herself face to face with her most devoted stalker?!

Starlight # 5
In issue #5, Duke and Space-Boy are hiding out in the jungles of Tantalus with the rebels, under the command of Tilda Starr, the former head of the Queen's Imperial Guard. Their aim: to retake the capital and free the people from the Brotean invaders! But their numbers are tiny, their hope is running low, and new secrets are coming out about the tragedies of Space-Boy’s past.

Bodies #1
VERTIGO brings you the miniseries of the summer, with four detectives, four time periods, and four dead bodies – all set in London. Edmond Hillinghead is an 1890s overachiever who’s trying to solve a murder no one cares about while hiding his own secret. Karl Whiteman is our dashing 1940s adventurer with a shocking past. Shahara Hasan is 2014’s kickass female Detective Sergeant, who walks the line between religion and power. And Maplewood, an amnesiac from post-apocalyptic 2050, brings a haunting perspective to it all. Si Spencer (HELLBLAZER: CITY OF DEMONS, THE VINYL UNDERGROUND) executes a centuries-spanning murder mystery like nothing you’ve ever seen before, with four sensational artists illustrating a six-page chapter in each issue: Dean Ormston, Phil Winslade, Meghan Hetrick and Tula Lotay.

Batgirl #34
“Deadline” concludes as Batgirl teams with Huntress and Black Canary to stop the evil of Obscura! After everything Barbara has been though to become Batgirl – will she be undone by her demons?

Batman #34
ZERO YEAR is over, and the events of BATMAN: ETERNAL have put Gotham City in a tailspin, but Batman is focused on finding a killer who has haunted his hometown in secret for years. This special issue features art by Matteo Scalera (DEADPOOL, Black Science) and sets the stage for the next major Batman story in the fall.

Captain Marvel #3, #4, #6
THE BATTLE ISSUE. Space! Ships! Super heroes! Captain Marvel has been caught in the middle of an interplanetary turf war for weeks. Now, it’s time for Earth’s Mightiest Hero to get her hands dirty and show the Spartax and the Haffensye what’s what.

Rachel Rising #27
Who killed Rachel? Rachel is investigating her own murder and has narrowed the list of suspects to two. But she doesn't know about someone close to her with a horrifying secret, one worth killing to keep.
